This online project course will guide you through building the Spider Coffee Table. The course covers options for building a 12” tall and 15” tall version of the table. The table is shown here in Beech Hardwood and is 24”W x 54”L x 12”H.

TOOLS, HARDWARE, AND MATERIALS

This is not a comprehensive list. Just some guidelines, and a list of the major tools, bits, and hardware that we used. Obviously we don't know what you have, but even with a much more modest workshop, it's highly likely that you can still find a way to complete this project. Skill and patience will always take you further than another tool.

Tools

  • Table Saw

  • Jointer

  • Planer

  • Circular Saw (or Track Saw)

  • Router

  • Domino (or Doweling Jig / Pocket Hole Jig)

  • Random Orbit Sander

  • Drill


Router Bits (links provided in plans + all optional)

  • Straight or Spiral Bit

  • Template Bit

  • Round Over Bit


Materials (specifics and options given in plans, and any species works)

  • 5/4 hardwood for table top

  • 8/4 hardwood for base pieces

  • scrap plywood or MDF for jig making
